The Messages I'm Getting Right Now {Poetry}

In a split second decision on Tuesday night, as I was preparing to cross the boarder back to the U.S., I felt off. After talking it out with my mentor, John Perkins, he encouraged me to listen to the signs I was feeling and really consider staying put. When I imagined staying in Mexico, I immediately felt better. My answer was clear.

The last few days have been the greatest gift. My new casita is situated on a natural reserve along the Cupatitzio River in Uruapan, Michoacan. Cupatitzio means “river that sings” in Purepecha, the indigenous language that is spoken in this region, because the rapid flow is so loud.

Every morning and most evenings, I sit with the river, connecting to the peace and beauty and listening closely with an open heart and mind to the messages I need to hear right now.

To my surprise, instead of journaling, poetry has flowed from my finger tips.

Today I share some of the poems I have written with you.

I hope these poems support you. I am sending you lots of love and peace. Please stay connected via email or on Instagram @sayyeswithjess.
